Module Overview
In this module the students are challenged to design and develop the home page for The Striped Umbrella, Blooms and Bulbs, and their personal website. Elements added to the homepage include descriptions, titles, keywords, and links to other pages.

Activities
Authentic:
Students will plan and construct the home page of an original website.

Background Building:
Activity 1- Students will build the home page for the Striped Umbrella using the Dreamweaver CS6 student text pages 47 through 63.
Activity 2- Students will build the home page for Blooms and Bulbs using the Dreamweaver CS6 student text pages 66 and 67.
Activity 3 - Students will complete the quiz for Dreamweaver chapter C.

Constructing:
Students will design and build the home page for their original website using the Dreamweaver CS6 software.

Sharing:
Students will share their design and content ideas for the home page of their original website with their mentor via email. Mentors have access to all student files through the shared Web Page Design folder on Google drive.

Prompts
Students will email their mentor with content and design ideas for the home page. Ask students to specifically identify how they might apply the principles of contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity.

Rubrics and Keys
Background Activity 1: Compare the student's home page to figure C-25 on page 63. Test the links. Switch to code view and compare the head content to figure C-7 on page 51.
